ABIA: State Sector Commander FRSC, Paul Ugwu Bows Out From Service After 34 Years Amidst Eulogies

Service Chief's of security agencies in Abia state and other key stakeholders on Wednesday joined in the sendforth ceremony organized by the Federal Road Safety Corps, Abia State Sector Command in honour of their State Sector Commander, Mr Paul Ugwu who bowed out meritoriously from active service after 34 years.

The Service Chief's who converged at the headquarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps Umuahia, took turns to eulogize the retiring State Sector Commander, Mr Paul Ugwu for his positive impacts and laudable transformations he brought into the Command, the transport sector as well as enhanced discipline amongst the motorists in Abia state.

Congratulating the retiree, the commanding officer, 14th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Abia state, Brig-Gen. Nsikak John Edet said it was a thing of joy to exit peacefully after a meritorious service, adding that it was not an easy task.

Brig-Gen. Edet who was represented by Major Inuwa, disclosed that to excel in any uniform organization, integrity and sincerity should be a watchword.

In his goodwill message, the Abia state Commissioner of Police, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, who was represented by Mbajunwa Martin Chijioke, described the retiree as a good person and prayed God to sustain him as he leaves the service.

Contributing, the State Director of DSS Abia State Command, Mr Friday Onuche described Mr Paul Ugwu as an embodiment of professionalism and a peaceful man whose immense contributions to the development of the corps cannot be overemphasized.

In their separate remarks, the Abia State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Comptroller Igwe, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defend Corps, the Nigeria Correctional Services and the FRSC Special Marshall, while thanking God for keeping the retiree alive to complete his service years in good health, described him as a rare gem and embodiment of wisdom.

In his valedictory speech earlier, the retiring State Sector commander of FRSC, Abia State Sector Command, Mr Paul I.Ugwu expressed gratitude to God for life, strength and wisdom given to him throughout his service years.

He thanked all the people that came to honour him as well as the organizers of the event, pointing out that the caliber of personalities that graced the event alone was a testament to the goodwill and synergy that existed between the corps and other security agencies across the State.

He urged the officers and men of the FRSC to remain focused, transparent, honest, diligent and consistent in carrying out their lawful assignments while charging them to be safety conscious at all times.

Speaking on behalf of the FRSC Abia, DCC Bridget Asekhauno, disclosed that they were going to miss their boss, assuring that they would continue to live up to the  mandate of the corps and wished him well in his future endeavors. 

The event featured presentation of gifts by Exco of Rivers  Joy Transport Company among others.
