100DAYS IN OFFICE: PST. UMO ENO SUPERSEDES THE EXPECTATIONS OF PEOPLE
(Adjudged the best Nigerian performing Governor for 100days in office)

In my attempt to highlight the achievements of His Excellency Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in just 100days in office, permit me to break the protocol regarding my writing pattern, just like the Governor himself who had broke the official protocols of the usual shenanigan and panaphaneria associated with the Governor's protocol in a view to identifying with the common man, thereby demystifying governance in Akwa Ibom State and giving it a human face.
Some of the major highlights shall fall under specific components of the Arise Agenda being the blueprint of this administration in order to drive home my points.
√. AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION
1. BANK OF INDUSTRY (BOI): The Governor has attracted the Bank of Industry (BOI) to Akwa Ibom State after their 64Years of operation in the Country with about 24 branches across some States in Nigeria. The aim is to help farmers to have access to soft loans for their farming businesses.
2. SHONGAI FARM MODEL: Akwa Ibom State Government has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Benin Republic-based Agriculture firm, Songhai farm. At least 500Hectres of land has been requested for from each Local Government Areas of the State for implementation of the modern farming model to see to food sufficiency and possible exportation of farm produce from Akwa Ibom State. It is currently being processed at the moment.
3. RAAMP: His Excellency has set up committee to look at Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Products in Akwa Ibom State. Thus contractors has been mobilized back to sites both in Urban and Rural Areas to open up more access roads for ease of Agricultural business and marketing purposes of Agricultural products within the State.
4. IBOM GREEN HOUSE TECHNOLOGY : To deepened his Rural Development drive and Agricultural Revolution, the Governor visited Ibom Green House Technology in a view to repositioning it for greater productivity. Work is ongoing to revamping the Green House Technology and other similar projects in the State.
√. RURAL DEVELOPMENT
1. APPOINTMENT OF PA'S IN ALL THE WARDS: The appointment of Personal Assistant by His Excellency in all the Wards will no doubt boost the Rural Development thrust of His Excellency, Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State as the Government is brought closer to the people like never before.
2. COUNCIL CHAIRMEN TO LIVE IN THEIR DOMAIN: A bill to make the Chairmen of Local Governments to reside in their locality having been sent to the State House of Assembly is geared towards Rural Development and that is the foundation. We will experience rapid and accelerated development in the Rural Areas as a result of this very gesture by His Excellency, Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
3. RURAL ROADS CONSTRUCTION: Some Rural Roads has been flagged off for construction in the State with some nearing 100% completion in just 100days in office. These include Ndiya Street adjourning 'Urua Akpan Andem', Uyo, Owot Uta - Nung Oku Ekere - Afaha Udo Eyop - Edebom1 - Ekponwa Market in Ibesikpo Asutan and Nsit Ibom Local Government Areas respectively.
4. COMBATING OF EROSION MENACE: The Governor has personally visited some gory erosion sites within the State for an on-the-spot assessment and ordered for immediate evacuation and remedial work. These include the Erosion menace at Ekpri Nsukakara Offot, Uyo, Udo Inwang by Urua Udofia Street off Ewet Offot Community, Uyo
5. BAN ON BORROW PIT EXCAVATION: The Governor stop what is called borrow-pit in the State without the express permission by the Ministry of Environment, which has been identified as one of the major cause of erosion ravaging some communities and posing threat to building collapse.
√. INFRASTRUCTURAL MANAGEMENT/ADVANCEMENT
1. HEALTH CARE: Remodelling of the cottage Hospital in Ikot Ekpene Udo as part of the Governor's initiative on upgrading of existing healthcare facilities within the State to meet the health needs of the people.
Construction of a model Healthcare center in Ibesikpo Asutan and Urue Offong-Oruko Local Government Areas respectively to ensure quality healthcare delivery to the people.
IBOM MEDICAL CITY: Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the CEO of Tanic Medical Engineering Ltd. Anthony Abou Nader, a renowned healthcare solution provider to superintendent over the project. The Ibom Medical City is expected to create a medical and hospitality corridor between the prestigious Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo and the Luxurious Four Points by Sheraton in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
2. REMODELLING OF MARKETS: Remodelling of Akpan Andem market to provide better facilities and more conducive environment for the traders to operate conveniently.
Ongoing construction Eket international market to boost economic growth and provide employment opportunities to the Rural dwellers in the area.
3. ROAD CONSTRUCTION: Construction of Ndiya Street with drainage and Solar-powered street lights and other facilities.
Construction of 1.1km Spring Road in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area to open up access to Goretti Secondary School, with 0.875 outfall drain bringing maximum economic development to the area.
Construction of 2.1Km Ukpong Street and 2.1Km Effiong Essang Street with 800m length of discharge drain in Oron Local Government Area
Construction of 2.2Km Tabernacle Road with 0.97Km underground drain that will empty into the Calabar-Itu Road drainage in Uyo and Itu Local Government Areas respectively.
Intervention in the Erosion menaced Atiku Abubarka Way, Uyo by approving an immediate distillation of the water log in the area and evacuation of same thereby repositioning the road for use out of an outburst of 'SOS' from the people in the area.
4. CONSTRUCTION OF A.R.I.S.E. CITY ESTATE: Plans are underway for the construction of ARISE CITY ESTATE in Mbierebe Akpawat in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. This is to ensure convenient accommodation for the people that may wish to subscribe to owning a building in the area.
MOBILIZATION OF CONTRACTIONS TO SITE: All contractors involved in Road construction in the State during the previous administration has been mobilized back to different sites in both Urban and Rural areas within the State as government is continuum.
√. SECURITY MANAGEMENTS: Given the proactive nature of His Excellency Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in a view to maintaining peace and tranquility in the State, the ministry of internal Security has been created for the first time in Akwa Ibom State. This is to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties.
QUICK INTERVENTION IN BOUNDARY CRISES: The Governor within his first 100days in office swung into action and curtailed what would have been a serious breakdown of order in the State as a result of Communal boundary crises, restoring maximum peace in Akwa Ibom State.
√. EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT
1. REMODELLING OF SCHOOLS: Ongoing construction of model Primary Schools across the State starting with Christ the King Primary School along Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, to be completed with state-of-the-art facilities such as staff quarters, pipe borne water, solar lights and standard library etc. The model Schools in to be extended to the 10 Federal constituencies within the State.
2. 100MILLION EDUCATION INTERVENTION FUND: Out of the Governor's compassion for Students with disabilities across the length of breadth of the State, 100Million intervention funds was set up by His Excellency Pst. Umo Bassey Eno within his first 100days in office to encourage the students with disabilities to continue with their education unhindered.
3. DONATION OF SCHOOL UNIFORMS AND EXERCISE BOOKS: Plans have been concluded for uniforms and exercise books to be donated to Pupils across the State encourage both the parents and Pupils in a view to promoting academic excellence.
4. DISBURSEMENT OF BURSARY TO THE INDIGENOUS STUDENTS: Indigenous Students in higher institutions across the State are to register to benefit in the bursary payment to all the students of Akwa Ibom State across the Country.
5. PAYMENT OF GRATUITIES TO RETIRED PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS: In all, His Excellency Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State has approved the release of over 5Billion Naira for the payment of Gratuities and Leave Grants to Retired Primary School Teachers and Retired Local Government workers across the State in just 100days in office.
Note: The Governor has continuously embarked on various life touching activities in the last 100days in office to mention but a few.
Survey of the Governor's activities in just 100days of staying in office proves that His Excellency Pst. Umo Bassey Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State emerges the overall best performing Governor in Nigeria in just a Hundred days in office. Indeed, the golden era is here to stay.
